“Beti” (1941) was directed by Jayant Desai for Ranjit Movietone, Bombay. It had Khursheed Bano, Arun Ahuja, Vasanti, E. Billimoria, Ghory, Khatoon, Kesri, Bhagwandas, Rewashankar, Dharpure, Nagendra, Bhupatrai etc. in it.
The movie had 14 songs in it. Five of these songs have been discussed in the past. Here is the sixth song from “Beti”(1941) to appear in the blog. HFGK mentins this song as sung by Khursheed, Vasanti and Arun, but I find that this song only has the voices of Khursheed Bano and Arun and not that of Vasanti. I assume that Arun is same as Arun Ahuja. That being the case, this song is picturised on the singers themselves who play the lead roles in this movie.
This movie had two lyricists, but HFGK is silent about the distribution of songs among them. I notice that Mr Sadanand Kamath, while discussing the previous song from this movie had informed us that the distribution was 8 songs by Butaram Sharma and 6 somgs by D N Madhok. I have not been able to get this breakup though, so I am not aware who penned this song.
Music is composed by Gyan Dutt.

In absence of video clip it is difficult to guess whether the whistling interludes are picturised on any actor? It’s a beautiful song indeed.
