“Shirin Farhad”(1945) was directed by Prahlad Dutt for Pancholi Art Pictures, Lahore. The movie had Raagini, Jayant, Ghulam Mohamad, Gyani, Zahoor Shah, Ata, Ishaq, Nafees Begam, Wazir Begam etc in it.
The movie had seven songs in it. One song from the movie has been covered in the blog.
Here is the second song from “Shirin Farhad”(1945) to appear in the blog. This song is sung by Shamshad Begam and S D Batish. Nazim Panipati is the lyricist. The movie had two music directors in it. Four songs from the movie have been attributed to Rashid Atre, whereas three other songs are not attributed. Seeing that Pt Amarnath, the other music directorsb too may have composed at least a few of these unattributed songs, I have for the time being assumed that this song is composed by Pt Amarnath.
Only the audio of this rare song is available. One can easily guess that this song was picturised on the lead pair playing the title roles. That being the case, this song may have been picturised on Raagini and Jayant.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the music director of this song as well as on the picturisation of this song.

mp3 clip of this song uploaded on Prof. Surjit Singh’s website has accredited this song to Pt. Amarnath.
S D Batish has sung a good number of songs for Batish brothers – Pt. Amarnath, Husnlal and Bhagatram.
