The dear ones who depart this world, do never return; just the memories remain. And then, just as another poet has said, “यादों का सहारा ना होता, हम छोड़ के दुनिया चल देते”. If we did not have the bracing support of the memories, life would really have been a difficult journey to tread. Memories make us experience the past emotions once again, and in a manner, give us the strength to permeate the emotions of sorrow that may linger after the departure of a loved one.
There is a blessing for us lovers of music, in that the sounds and the images have been preserved, for the past about a hundred years plus, and this repository allows us to visit and visit again to refresh some very dear memories.
The best are always the favorites. Like Rafi Sb. As Atul ji has observed in a recent post, that about half of all that he has rendered is already hosted on our blog also. And that means, there is still another half that we have to resurrect and bring on to showcase here. Quite some consolation that this endeavor promises to keep us busy for a good amount of foreseeable future.
Today’s delightful duet is from the film ‘Pyaara Dushman’ from 1955. Another light romantic song – we encounter a hesitant gentleman, and the lady who is encouraging him on, asking him to have no fear. The accompanying singer is Asha Bhosle. Lyrics are by Saba Afghani. The lilting and endearing music composition is by Nisar Bazmi. Incidentally, just yesterday, Atul ji has posted another song from this film – a solo by Rafi Sb. Though not a rare occurrence, it is interesting to note such quick progression sometimes. 🙂
[Note: Another thing that I would like to add is that I am more or less the culprit for the near miss for the solitary post yesterday. The song from ‘Lagaan’ (Arun ji’s post) that appeared around 1.30 in the morning today, was supposed to have been online sometimes by evening yesterday. But then I got swamped with certain other priorities, and could not complete all the steps of post preparation in good time. Atul ji is just the cavalry that appears in time, before the end of the film. 🙂 ]
