“Bandhe Haath”(1973) was directed by O.P.Goyal for Ralhan Productions, Bombay. The movie had Mumtaz, Amitabh Bachchan, O.P.Ralhan, Kumud Chhugani, Ajit, Anjana, Sardar Akhtar, Ram Mohan, Ranjit, Madan Puri, Gajanan Jagirdar, Asit Sen, Tun Tun, Baldev Mehta, Pinchoo Kapoor, Kamaldeep, Moolchand, Sikandar, Ravikant, Ratan Gourang, Maqbool, Usha Amershi, Vanita Thakur etc in it.
The movie had six songs in it. Four of these songs have been covered in the past.
Here is the fifth song from “Bandhe Haath”(1973) to appear in the blog. The song is sung by Lata and chorus. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by R d Burman.
I have only been able to locate the audio as of now. I am sure that the video too is available and that it is picturised as a dance song on Mumtaz and others. Let us make do with the audio for the time being.
What a lilting dance song it is. The tune does bear some similarity with another R D Burman composition, viz the holi song from “Sholay”(1975) and may be some other sngs as well.
