Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 53

In the ‘Blog Ten-Year Challenge’ today we have three movies eligible for representation of a song from them. These are ‘Modern Girl-1961’, ‘Ghar Ki Laaj-1960’ and ‘Lahore-1949’.
Following is the list of six songs from six movies that were covered on this day ten years ago (on 12 August 2010).

Today I am presenting a song from the movie ‘Modern Girl-1961’.
I associate this movie with its popular duet ‘Ye mausam rangeen samaa’ which was written by Gulshan Bawra. I was not aware of others songs from this movie. But, thanks to the ‘blog ten-year challenge’ I get to listen the other songs from this movie now. 😊
‘Modern Girl-1961’ was directed by R. Bhattacharya for ‘Rainbow Movies’. It was produced by B.D. Narang. It had Pradeep Kumar, Sayeeda Khan, Smriti Biswas, Nalini Chonkar and Johny Walker, with Madan Puri, Iftekhar, Amar, Raj Kumar, Amrit Rana, Jagdish Kanwal, Helen, Protima Devi, Leela Mishra, Lilian, Sheela Vaz, Meena Parel, Tun Tun, Bela Parmanik, Sarita Devi, Daya Devi, Begum Bai, Nimmo, Aruna, Asha, Baby Farida, Bela, Rita, Sohanlal, Uma Dutt and others.
As per HFGK Vol-IV (1961-1970) this movie had seven songs composed by Ravi. Lyrics were written by Rajinder Krishan- four songs, and S.H. Bihari, Qamar Jalalabadi and Gulshan Bawra had penned one song each for this movie.
Mukesh, Mohd Rafi, Asha Bhonsle and Suman Kalyanpur had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
