The holy month of Shrawan, when Lord Shiv is worshipped has already started in the northern part of our country. Today is the first Monday of the ‘saawan’ month of this year. Monday is the day associated with Lord Shiva. Devotees of Lord Shiva make offerings to Lord Shiva offer their prayers to him.
On this occasion here is a ‘shiv-stutee’ song from the movie ‘Been Kaa Jaadoo-1963’.
“Been Ka Jaadoo-1963”, a comstume drama, was directed by N. Rajesh for ‘S.A. Films, Bombay’. From the little information available about this movie in HFGK Vol-IV (1961-1970), we kinow that the movie had Mahipal, Helen, Kammo, Tiwari, Mohan Choti and Ulhas in it.
“Been Ka Jaadoo-1963” has six songs. All of them were penned by B.D. Mishra. Music for this movie was composed by S.N. Tripathi. Playback singers were only two, viz Suman Kalyanpur and Mahendra Kapoor. Out of the six songs three songs are solo songs sung by Suman Kalyanpur, two are duets of Suman Kalyanpur and Mahendra Kapoor and one song has chorus with Suman Kalyanpur.
This movie was introduced on the blog on 18.07.2016 wherein its song ‘mere paanv ki paayaliya kaahe ko jhanke’ was presented by our respected Shri Sudhir ji. The second song from this movie was posted on the blog on 11.04.2023. This song was ‘janam janam kaa saathh hamaaraa’. The third song from this movie to appear on the blog was ‘teraa pyaar mujhko bulaa rahaa’. This was posted on 26.05.2024. The fourth song was posted on the blog 06.10.2024. This song was ‘shaam dhhalee raat hui jaane do’.
Today I am presenting the fifth song from this movie ‘Been Kaa Jaadoo-1963’. This beautiful song is sung by Suman Kalyanpur and chorus.
Only audio of this song is available. I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and the picturisation of its songs.
