#the Decade of Sixties – 1961 – 1970 #
————————————————————————
On our blog we have over five thousand four hundred songs from the decade of 1950s viz from the years of 1951-1960.
In comparison to that the decade of the 1960s or the years 1961-1970 have over four thousand songs. No doubt the golden years of Hindi cinema of the ‘fifties’ had produced many melodious and immortal songs. For me the years of 1961-1970 as well were the years of the glorious music period of the Hindi Film Industry. The great composers from the industry carried forward the legacy from the earlier years and continued to produce melodious music even in the subsequent years.
Today we will be listening to one such melodious song from the year ‘1963’. This composition will remind readers of another song from the same composer but with a different lyrics writer.
Today’s song is from the movie ‘Been Ka Jaadoo-1963’.
This movie was introduced on the blog on 18.07.2016 when its song ‘mere paanv ki paayaliya kaahe ko jhanke’ was presented by our respected Shri Sudhir ji.
“Been Ka Jaadoo-1963” was directed by N. Rajesh for ‘S.A. Films, Bombay’ and it was a ‘costume drama’ movie.
Very less information is available about this movie in HFGK Vol-IV (1961-1970).
The cast of this movie mentioned in HFGK included Mahipal, Helen, Kammo, Tiwari, Mohan Choti and Ulhas.
“Been Ka Jaadoo-1963” has six songs which were all written by B.D. Mishra. Music for this movie was composed by S.N. Tripathi.
The voices that were used for playback singing are of Suman Kalyanpur and Mahendra Kapoor only. Out of the six songs three songs are solo songs sung by Suman Kalyanpur, two are duets of Suman Kalyanpur and Mahendra Kapoor and one song has chorus with Suman Kalyanpur.
Today we present the second song from this movie on the blog. This song is a duet song sung by Mahendra Kapoor and Suman Kalyanpur. Only audio of this song is available.
I would request knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie and on the picturisation of its songs.
Let us now listen to this duet song .

Lyrics
janam janam ka saath hamaaraa
saath kabhi ye chhoote naa
jug jug ki ye preet puraani
preet hamaari toote naa aa
aa aa aa aa aa aa
mil hi gaye hai jab
nayan se nayan
hone bhi do
pyaaraa pyaaraa milan
laage hai dar
jaane kya hogaa aa
dekhe jo koyi hamaaraa milan
saans ki dor jo toote to toote
pyaar ki dor ye toote naa aa
janam janam ka saath hamaaraa
saath kabhi ye chhoote naa aa
aa aa aa aa aa aa aa
ahaa haa aa aa aa aa
aa aa aa aa aa aa aa aa
de do vachan mujh ko sajanaa aa
chhodoge mera kabhi sang naa aa
tum hi to nainon ki jyoti ho
bhoolenge kaise tumhe ye nainaa
aayenge rang umang bhare din
hamse jo kismat roothhe naa
janam janam ka saath hamaaraa
saath kabhi ye chhoote naa aa
