There are different usages of the word “Baaz”, like
“baz aa jaao” which means stop, desist or do not.
There is another word with “ayin” in between as “Ba’az”. This “Ba’az” means some or specific. Usage example is “Ba’az auqaat” which means sometimes or at times. “Auqat” is plural of ‘Waqt”, as well as a word used to denote “status” “Power”, “Value”. More related words are “waq’at” and “Qeemat”.
Another related term comes to mind is “waqtan fawaqtan” to mean “intermittently” or “frequently”.

Back to the movie ‘Baazi” (1984). It had Dharmendra, Rekha, Ranjeeta and Mithun Chakravorty is main roles, and Shakti Kapoor as the villain. The song being posted is a romantic song filmed on Dharmendra and Rekha. But there is a serpent in paradise, as Shakti Kapoor is following them around with a gun. As the song ends, he shoots Rekha. Story is not known, as I have not seen the movie. But the song is familiar, heard of radio.
The playback is by Lata Mangeshkar and Shabbir Kumar. Anand Bakshi has written the song, with Laxmikant-Pyarelal as composers. The ‘serpent in paradise’ remark above is very apt, as the filming is done in paradise (on earth).
The song starts at Shankar Acharya math, high above Srinagar and moves to snow filled valleys, likely Gulmarg. I was almost disappointed; it did not show the Dal Lake. The print is bad at times, with the screen looking darker, may be the bad climate at the location is the reason. But seeing all these songs is reminding me of movies like “Aarzoo” and “Jab jab Phool khile”. Countless movies of 60’s are there in eastman colour to show us the paradise in full glory. I should take time out to see how it looked like 60 years ago.
