‘Alam Ara Ki Beti-1960’, spelled in Geet Kosh as ‘Aalam aaraa Ki Beti’ was directed by Nanubhai Vakil for ‘Desai Kalamandir, Bombay’. Moghabhai Desai was the producer of this movie. This ‘imaginary or fantasy’ (काल्पनिक) movie was passed by the Censor Board on 02.02.1960.
The cast of this movie had Naina, Maruti, Daljeet, Prakash, Kanchanmala, Jeevankala, Sadik, Tuntun, Munshi Munakka, Chandabai, Nazmi, Sashimala, M. Kumar, Nadir, Meharbanu, Razzaq, Pawan Kumar, Ismail Azad, Yusuf Azad Qawwaal and others.
‘Alam Ara Ki Beti-1960’ has eight songs. They were written by Noor Dewasi(three songs) and Anwar Farrukhabadi ( five songs). Bipin Dutt was the music composes. The playback singers for this movie are Ismail Azad Qawwaal, Yusuf Azad Qawwaal, Suman Kalyanpur, Asha Bhonsle, Jaani Babu Qawwaal, and Sudha Malhotra.
Only two songs from this movie have been posted on the blog so far.
Today I am presenting the third song from this movie which is a female duet in the voices of Asha Bhonsle and Suman Kalyanpur.
Lyrics of this song are penned by Noor Devasi.
Today’s song is a nice song to listen to where it seems that the two females are trying to outdo each other by highlighting the qualities that they possess.

Editor’s note:-One of the voices sounds like Mubarak Begam rather than Suman Kalyanpur though all credits mention the voice as Suman Kalyanpur.
