Mega milestone.
Mega event.
And a Mega Rare song being discovered.

It is high time we take a holistic look at the number of HFM songs of various years available in the blog and also the number of HFM songs created during that year as well as the number of songs likely to be available. That will give us an idea about where we stand in the blog when it comes to covering the songs of that year. It will also give us an idea of what is required to be done in the future.

When one looks at the yearwise list of songs in this blog. One finds that the oldest songs that we have in this blog are from 1933. Though Hindi talkies began to be produced in 1931 itself but the records of songs of these movies were not produced. It was only in 1932 that the idea of issuing gramophone records for songs was thought about. But as happens with most new ideas, the potential behind this concept was not immediately realised and only a few movie makers opted to have records of songs of their movies issued.
