VINTAGE NAUSHAD…….Song No. 1
————————————-
NAUSHAD may be or may not be the best Composer the HFM ever had, but he certainly was a good example of Rags to Riches story of Filmy Duniya. He rose from the footpath and became one of the most successful composers ever in Hindi Films. Added to this was his good nature, Lucknowi Tahzib and hard work. This made him a man with least enemies ( competitors-yes but no enemies ) and on whose name alone films were sold during his peak period.

LOST AND FOUND-GEMS FROM UNRELEASED FILMS… Song No. 6
——————————————————–
” Necessity is the mother of Invention “. For a long time, I took this saying at its face value. Later, however, I was thinking how this ” Necessity ” comes in our life ? I am of the opinion that things of Utility and Convenience create their own necessity for the Human race.

LOST AND FOUND-GEMS FROM UNRELEASED FILMS….Song No. 5
———————————————————–
I have been seeing films and listening to film songs from a very young age,for which I used to get reprimands frequently. I had a habit of noting down everything I felt was important in my life. This also included information and comments on films seen in those days.As I grew up and made extra efforts( like bunking school/college etc) to see old movies. I had an attraction-cum-curiosity about the old films, actors, songs etc. Due to this i was called ‘ The grand old man ‘ at a very young age ! This habit of writing about films continued till the 60s when I decided to concentrate on my Career. I had a heap of notebooks, diaries, and make do exercise books made out of blank pages from old exercise books of past academic years.During my transfers in the job, many were lost, some were left behind and the rest were carried to next destination, despite stiff opposition from you know who.

LOST AND FOUND- GEMS FROM UNRELEASED FILMS….song No.4
——————————————————–
As said earlier, Hindi film industry is like an ocean. From 1931 till today, thousands of people must have worked in it. One estimate says, from 1931 to 2000, some 7000 actors alone have worked in Talkie films, not counting other categories of artists. Almost 12000 censored films were made. All this is fine, except that no historical records have been kept about the films or its music. Due to this, many controversies have cropped up about actors/singers/songs mainly. Those people who dig up old documents, secure interviews of old artistes and record these for future references are doing a pioneering work. Those who write books, at times do not care to cross check the information they provide in their books, thereby inviting controversies.

The number 10000 is an important milestone. In cricket, batsmen aggregating 10000 runs or more in test matches and One Day Internationals (ODIs) are considered iconic batsmen. In athletics, athletes participating in 10000m run are regarded as persons of great endurance. It is the ultimate aim of long distance runners to win the 10000m running competition to prove their prowess. I find that there are 9 batsmen in test matches and 10 batsmen in ODI cricket who have achieved the distinction of aggregating 10000 and more runs. There may be nearly hundred athletes who have won 10000m run in recognised athletic competitions.
