I have not watched “Andaaz” (1949). What I know is that this movie had over a dozen songs, and almost everyone of these songs was extremely popular.

“Andaaz” (1949) seemed to have only piano songs in it. Dilip Kumar had many piano songs in this movie. This particular song is not sung by Mukesh ( for Dilip Kumar) but by Lata ( for Nargis) and this too is a Piano song of sorts.

“Andaaz” (1949) has over a dozen songs. Mukesh is the male playback singer who sings for Dilip Kumar in this movie. Almost all these songs are apparently piano songs.

I had posted a sopng from “Dillagi” (1949) and described that song as one that was played quite frequently in Radio Ceylon’s “purani filmon ke geet” programme in 1960s and 1970s.

Tu mera chaand main teri chaandni

When I listened to “Purani filmon ke geet” programme on Radio Ceylon in my younger days, this song “tu mera chand main teri chandni” used to get played so very often in that programme. If they had a popularity contest among all those old songs then this song would have won hands down in popularity, it seems to me.

It has been pointed out to me that I have posted only one song from “Andaz”(1949) whereas this movie was one of the biggest musical blockbusters of all time and a milestone in Bollywood history, musically as well as otherwise.
