Many people may only be aware of the new “Parineeta”, but in reality, the original and real “Parineeta” is the movie that was based on Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s story and it was picturised in 1953. It was made in Bangla, Hindi, and may be in other languages too.

When Bollywood movie music was in its early decades, it was carefully nursed and nurtured by some of the finest musical talents available. Most of the music dirrectors in the industry at that time had solid grooming in classical music. They were quality conscious while creating their music, and they were quite innovative and imaginative too.

I was not aware of this movie called “Hamdard” (1953). Now I have some information about this movie. “Hamdard” (1953) starred Nimmi, Shekhar and Smriti Biswas, and from the songs, the story appears a love triangle involving the abovementioned three actors.

I have posted a song from “Teen Batti Chaar Raastaa” (1953) in the past. This movie was the story of a house maid, who is as plain looking as many house maids, but with a golden voice, and many people who listen to her voice on Radio think that she must be an attractive looking lady.
