“Beti” (1969) is a movie which had Sanjay Khan, Nanda, Kamini Kaushal, Kishor Sahu, Rajendra Nath in it. I have not seen this movie but it is my theory that a movie whose title included words like “Beti”, “Bhabhi”, “Bahu” etc tend to be a tales of women who are shown sacrifices just for the sake of it. I do not know whether I am correct in my assesment of this movie that I have made just by looking at the title and the starcast. I request our knowledgeable readers to help confirm/ refute my guess about this movie.

When I saw the lyrics “chal chal re naujawaan” in a song from “Ek Phool Do Maali” (1969), I was surprised. People may wonder why I should be surprised if I had watched the movie. Regaining the memories of a song heard long back, I tried to locate it and tried to find more about it. Thankfully, I am able to find the audio posted on the YouTube. But then all other information is new to me. This lovely sound of a melancholic melody by Talat Mehmood, is a song from a film ‘Patthar Ke Khwaab’ (1969), a name that I encountered for the first time today. Pulling together information from Geet Kosh, I find this film is produced under the banner of Nagin Productions, and directed by Pal Premi. The main list of stars includes Mahipal, Parveen Choudhary, Sapru, Madhumati, Amarnath, Mohan Choti, Jeevankala etc.
