I came across a veritable gem today, that I had once heard many many years ago; I had no info about this song, just remembered the tune and some words, that would sometimes just come up in my mind by themselves and I would hum them, always longing to hear this song again. There are some songs which can be categorised as “story” songs. Here the singer tells a story in song form. In fact, telling story in song form is an old traditional art in India and Bollywood movies are definitely inspired from that tradition when coming up with such songs.
