We observe that two movies (out of eight) whose songs were covered on this date ten years ago (on 19 april 2013) have since been YIPPEED in the blog. So we have six unYIPPEED movies that are eligible for Blog Ten Year Challenge today (19 April 2023).
That date ten years ago happened to be Ramnavami. On that occasion, a couple of Lord Ram related songs were covered from Lord Ram related movies.
“Bharat Milaap”(1942) was one such movie.

Today’s song is from film Bharat Milap-1942. It is sung by G M Durani and the music is by Shankar Rao Vyas, for lyrics written by Pt.Indra.
Few years back, I remember, Dr. Surjit Singh ji had published a list of 7000 names of actors, who had acted in films from the beginning till up to the year 2000. He had found this list on a site which was no more existing. I had meticulously copied that list on my Laptop, in the year 2010. Since then, I have changed my Laptop 3 times and now I do not find this list with me anymore. God knows when it got deleted or was left out uncopied, sometime.

Mythological films have been an important part of Indian films since long and this was evident from the fact that there was hardly any production house that did not make a Mythological film. The period of 1940 to 1965 can be called an age of meaningful religious films. In this too, the 1950 to 1960 period was the peak period for this genre. Later on the production of such films dwindled and these days, of course, one has to make efforts to find such a film, with a large magnifying glass !

Today (19 april 2013) is Ramnavami, the birth anniversary of Lord Ram. This day, which falls of the ninth day in the Indian month of Chaitra, is popularly known as Ramnavami and it is a major festival in India.
