I have mentioned it that this blog has songs from nearly 1000 Hindi movies as of now. The list of moviewise songs that I have provided gives us a good idea of the songs that have been posted. With time, I have posted all the songs from some movies- viz “Barsaat”(1949), “Dholak”(1950), “Madhumati” (1958) etc. In case of other movies, I am gradually building up the list song by song.

Though this song is from a movie of 1961, I first heard this song just a few days ago. And since then, I have come to the conclusion that this song must be one of the greatest songs created in Bollywood movies. And I am really surprised that this song is not all that well known. A song like this should form part of all the “all time classics” that music companies come up with periodically.

Helen is mostly seen in Videshi naach, but here she is seen dressed in desi outfits and dancing a desi dance. The occasion is a wedding, where she is performing.

Few people are aware of this 1964 movie called “Cha Cha Cha”. It had a by now forgotten hero called Chandrashekhar, and Helen, a one dance wonder in most movies, was the heroine of this movie !

One is used to seeing Helen in a cabaret number dressed in “western” clothes. Also her role would typically be confined to that one song.
