What do film stars do when they retire or stop working ?
Actually, the artistes can be divided into two parts. One, those who stop working voluntarily or retire by choice and Two, those who stop getting work and are compelled to retire. Of course the first category has definite plans post retirement, so they do what was planned. However those who stop getting work or are compelled to call it a day have either to fall back on their savings or do something else to survive.

NAUSHAD may be or may not be the best Composer the HFM ever had, but he certainly was a good example of Rags to Riches story of Filmy Duniya. He rose from the footpath and became one of the most successful composers ever in Hindi Films. Added to this was his good nature, Lucknowi Tahzib and hard work. This made him a man with least enemies ( competitors-yes but no enemies ) and on whose name alone films were sold during his peak period.

This was a stunt film featuring Fearless Nadia, with her usual crew and a routine story, highlighting the thrilling stunt scenes done by her and her ‘helping assistants’- Punjab ka Beta (Horse), Austin ki beti (Dabba car) and Moti the Dog. This time we are not going to talk about Nadia or her crew etc, but we will know more about a forgotten actress Hansa- Hansa Wadkar.

“Bahen” (Sister) was a National Studios Production of 1941. It was directed by Mehboob Khan. The movie had Sheikh Mukhtar, Nalini Jaywant, Harish, Husn Bano, Kanhaiyalal, Swarup Rani, Bhudo Advani, Iqbal Begum, Baby Meena etc in it.

“Dard” (1947) was a Kardar Productions movie. It was produced and directed by A R Kardar. The movie had Suraiya, Munawar Sultana, Nusrat, Husn Banoo, Badri Prasad, Protima Devi, Shyam Kumar, Amir Ali, Lakshman, Noor Mahal etc in it.
