The movie had Balraj Sahni, Sheela Ramani, Johnny Walker, Rasheed Khan, Praveen Pal, Kumkum, Radhika, Vijay Anand etc. in it. This is the eighth song out of ten from the movie. (The remaining two songs are the two parts of a song with same ‘mukhada’, “Baat Meri Maan Le”.) Kishore and S Balbir are singing this in typical Kishore’s humorous style. They start the song with religious color but soon shift to the more popular subject, that is ‘ishq’. Vishwamitra Adil wrote the lyrics for this song.

When I plan to write an article for any series or a song, I ensure that I gather more than necessary material,so that I can select the desired material from that.In such exercises, many times I come across some unusual songs-in the sense that sometimes the singer is uncommon,or the theme of the song is different,or the composer is special or even the song is too obscure but needs an exposure. In such cases,I keep these songs in the ‘Draft’ section of my computer,to be used in future, at an appropriate time.

“Be-qaraar Dil Tu Gaaye Jaa”

The sounds of restlessness coming from a restive heart. A voice that exists in a multitude of colors and flavors and moods. A voice that has entertained the listeners for the better part of four decades. A voice that has left an indelible stamp on the history of Hindi Cinema and Hindi Film Music. A voice that holds the trademark on the ultimate songs of fun that are completely and irrefutably non-replicable, priceless gems of yodeling, mimicry and voice modulation. A voice that became the alter-ego of many a successful careers, so much so that in the 70s and 80s, the lead male actors would not consider their careers and performances complete unless this voice was in the background. Even thespian Dilip Kumar, after having spent three decades in the industry, eventually performed on screen, with this voice behind him (‘Sagina’, 1974). A voice that was nominated 27 times for Filmfare awards for best male singer, in a span of just 16 years (1970 to 1986), winning it eight times in the process. A voice whose power of influence simply could not be matched, especially during the peak years in the 1970s and 80s.

In this blog, I treat the number of songs discussed as the same as the number of posts. For instance, as of now, it is mentioned that the blog has 4876 songs. But it is not true. It means that this blog had 4876 posts. Multiple version songs, where songs with same lyrics are sung by different artists are discussed in one post in this blog, but they are really different songs. If one begins to count the number of songs that way (which is the actual way of counting songs), then this blog has already has already discussed over 5000 songs. It is for the sake of convenience and to avoid duplication of work that such multiple version songs are discussed in one post.
