Today’s song is another Bappi Da-Kishore Kumar song which I like very much since the release of its movie. I had not watched this movie and over the years I only remember this song and one other song of this movie which is ‘naina ye barse, milne ko tarse’ which too I like very much. However I had always thought these songs as the compositions of Laxmikant-Pyarelal. It was only when I noted down the lyrics of this song for presentation that I came to know that it was a composition of Bappi Lahiri and not Laxmikant Pyarelal.

During 1966-72, I used to watch one Hindi film almost every week-end. I had only two main criteria for selecting a film. First, I should be able to procure a ticket without a long queue either in advance or current booking. Second, the film should be from a good banner which meant that ‘B’ and ‘C’ grade films were out of my reckoning.
