Today’s song is another Bappi Da-Kishore Kumar song which I like very much since the release of its movie. I had not watched this movie and over the years I only remember this song and one other song of this movie which is ‘naina ye barse, milne ko tarse’ which too I like very much. However I had always thought these songs as the compositions of Laxmikant-Pyarelal. It was only when I noted down the lyrics of this song for presentation that I came to know that it was a composition of Bappi Lahiri and not Laxmikant Pyarelal.
There are some nice songs given by Bappi Lahiri-Kishore Kumar combination in the eighties till 1987 when Kishore Kumar passed away. I seem to have lost track of many such songs and it is only nowadays that I am getting reaquainted with them on ‘radio programmes’.
Today’s wonderful romantic Kishore Kumar song is one such song. This is from the ‘1985’ movie ‘Mohabbat’.
‘Mohabbat’ (1985) was directed by Bapu. It was produced by Inder Kumar-Ashok Thakariya.
It had Anil Kapoor, Vijayata Pandit, Amrish Puri, Shakti Kapoor, Aruna Irani, Amjad Khan, Shammi, Ram Mohan, Sundar, Shubha Khote, Satish Kaushik, Chitti Babu, Asha, Manmauji, Dev Sharma, Sehgal and others.
This movie was passed by Censor Board on 15.05.1985. Movies with the same title were released in ‘1943’, and ‘1997’ as well.
We have the ‘1943-Mohabbat’ already represented on the blog.
“Mohabbat-1985” has five songs in it which all were written by Indeevar. Music for this film was composed by Bappi Lahiri.
