In my last article, I discussed the film, ‘Naache Naagin Baaje Been’ (1969) which was written and produced by Devi Sharma (19/10/2021 – 30/03/2010). I got acquainted with his name when I had watched his films, ‘Ganga Ki Laharen’ (1964) and ‘Gunaahon Kaa Devta’ (1967)” in my younger days. Meerut born Devi Sharma was a writer and got attracted to the glamour world of Hindi films. He shifted to Mumbai and debuted as a co-producer with Wasti for ‘Basre Ki Hoor (1956). His first independent film as a producer and writer under his banner, Janta Chitra was ‘Taxi Stand’ (1958). The next as a producer-writer was ‘Kaali Topi Laal Roomaal’ (1959).

‘Naache Naagin Baaje Been’ (1960) was produced by Devi Sharma and was directed by Tara Harish. The star cast included Chandrashekhar, Kumkum, K N Singh, Amar, Sunder, Indira Bansal, Parshuram, Agha, Helen, Kamal Mehra, Ratna, Ratan Ghurang, Chandabai etc.

“Naache Naagin Baaje Been”(1960) was directed by Tara Harish. The movie had Chandrashekhar and Kumkum in lead roles with K N Singh, Agha, Helen etc also there in the movie.

Beet gayi hai aadhi raat

In my definition, Chaayaageet song is one which is sung in the period between 10 PM to midnight. :D. That way, a song talking about a period after midnight is not a chaagyaageet song. May be I should call such a song as “post Chaayaageet period” song.
