B. R. Chopra’s romantic comedy “Pati Patni Aur Woh”, based on the “seven-year itch” of Hollywood starring Marilyn Monroe made its blog debut on 25th February 2009 with the most famous song of the movie thhande thhande paani se nahaana chaahiye. After three years na aaj thha na kal thha was posted on the occasion of Kishore Kumar’s Birthdate. After almost a full year Sudhirji gave us this article on a song which can be called as a “movie inside a movie” song.

In 1978, BR Chopra made this remarkable film ‘Pati, Patni Aur Who’. I call it remarkable because it is a rare occasion that the theme of marital infidelity is being dealt as a comedy. A happily married executive, wife of his liking through a love marriage, one child, and a comfortable household and life. What more can a man desire. Ah but yes, it is these ‘more’ desires of the man that are the thorn in the side.

“Pati Patni Aur Woh” (1978) was a B R Chopra production. It was produced and directed by B R Chopra. The movie was a light hearted adult comedy in the sense that it depicted the tale of a man carrying on an affair with his female secretary in office behind the back of his homely wife.
