Four M’s and Prem Dhawan. That makes a list of songs that are the most often played, on the days of national significance – 15th August (Independence Day) and 26th January (Republic Day). The first M is Mohammed Rafi – “Ae Watan Ae Watan, Humko Teri Qasam”(‘Shaheed’, 1965). The second M is Mukesh –“Chodo Kal Ki Baaten” (‘Hum Hindustani’, 1960). The third M is Manna Dey – “Ae Mere Pyaare Watan” (‘Kabuliwaala’, 1961). And the fourth M is Mahendra Kapoor – “Mera Rang De Basanti Chola, Mera Rang De” (again from ‘Shaheed’, 1965). Remembering Prem Dhawan on the anniversary of his birth. (13th June).
