This is a Duet by Kishore Kumar, Anup Kumar and chorus from film-HUM DO DAKU-1967.
KISHORE KUMAR (4-8-1929 to 13-10-1987) was a colourful, multifaceted and interesting personality. You can find actors who sang song, actors who gave music, actors who directed films, you can even find actors who sang and gave music, but KISHORE KUMAR was the only person who acted, sang, composed music, produced and directed films, wrote Lyrics, screenplay and stories and edited films. For one man to do all these things successfully is nothing short of a Wonder. I do not think that there is any other person in the whole world of Cinema, in any country, who handled all these activities with aplomb and expertise !

Here is another comedy song from the film Nagina-1951, featuring Gope and Mohana at a party hosted by Heeralal.
Nagina was a film made by Dalsukh Pancholi. He was the man who had to run away from Lahore leaving all his empire of film production. Pancholi studio in Lahore was not just a film making place,it was an Institution for budding artistes in varioue faculties like acting, direction and music. Many actors and actresses started their careers here and then flourished in India later. Names that come to mind quickly are of Pran and Omprakash.

This is a comedy song from film NAGINA-51. The singers are Rafi and Shamshad. This was a Nutan- Nasir Khan film.
Sometime back I finished reading Nutan’s Biography, written by her close friend and noted journalist, Lalita Tamhane. The book is titled ‘ ASEN MEE…NASEN MEE ‘ (I may be…I may not be). Many interesting things which are not well known are mentioned in this book. I will try to describe a part of it, from Nutan’s early career, as I remember. Thanks to Lalita Tamhane-the copyright holder.

Seven song of the film Sangeet Samrat Tansen (1962) are posted in the blog. This singular Rafi solo is the eighth song to appear. It seems to me that Bharat Bhooshan is in the title role. The song is the creation of lyricist Shailendra and Music Director S N Tripathi. But to elevate this song in a film based on a vocalist life, the onus rest heavily on Rafi Sahab. And the award goes to Mohammed Rafi Sahab. Not lyrical, not musical but a vocal beauty, this one.
