Here is a nice song from a 1980 small budget movie called “Ek baar phir”. Most people involved in this song were relatively small time artists. An upcoming Anuradha Paudwal of pre T-series vintage was the female voice and the male voice was Bhupinder Singh, who was around for two decades but barely got to sing in too many movies. The lyricist was a little known Vinod Pande and the music director was an equally out of work Raghunath Seth.
The song was picturised on Deepti Naval and someone called Pradeep Verma. The later was shown playing a baaja throughout this song, looking more like a joker than a hero. Just joking. 😉
Here was one small time song that managed to win over the public. This is one song that is as hummable today as it was some three decades ago.

Yes, I too recall that it was considered controversial for its “adult” theme.

thanks atul for pointing that this is already posted.
this movie was for adults only. so i wasn’t allowed to see it then. then on attaining adulthood when i saw it seemed rather tame compared to the stuff that we get to see in movies these days and also in the 90s.
this movie had lot of complicated human emotionsviz. failure at work, marital discord, extra marital relations etc to deal with. and add to it a very unusual star cast. it had Suresh Oberoi playing Deepti Naval’s actor husband and this JOKER playing the guitar (as you said rightly Bajaa). so u can call it a glorified B grade movie or Art film or as they say these days a Middle of the road movie

I just heard this song, where else than on AIR FM Rainbow. What a song? I remember, this was a good hit in 80s.

Lovely song.
If I am not mistaken, Ek Baar Phir was a somewhat controversial movie ? Or was it “Adults only” ?
Or maybe it was an “art” movie. There was something with it, for sure.
Again, if I am not mistaken, this is the movie for which Deepti Naval moved back from New York to India to work in Indian films. Till then, she had been the New York theater types. At least that is what I remember from an interview way back (sometime in 1980, when this movie was released).
