Pancham’s Music – Eighties-to-Nineties (1981-1994…) Duets-13
Today’s duet composition by Rahul Dev Burman is from the 1996 movie ‘Anyaay Hi Anyaay’. As per information available in Hindi Filmography the date of censor certificate for this movie is 01.11.1996. However the movie available on internet has its date of censor certificate as 12.09.1997. Otherwise also sources mentioned that this movie was delayed in making by several years and finally when it got released the music composer of this movie RD Burman had already passed away in 1994. This movie is considered as the last movie (released) where the music is composed by RD Burman as per his filmography. Sources also mentioned that the makers of this movie marketed the audio cassettes blurb of this movie with RD Burman’s photo and mentioning it as his last release.
‘Anyaay Hi Anyaay’ was produced and directed by Tarun Wadhwa for Laharshta Creations. He also wrote the story of this movie. The cast of this movie has Madan Jain, Reshma Singh, Shafi Inamdar, Archana Puran Singh, Amrit Pal, Reeta Bhaduri, Alok Nath, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Sulbha Deshpande, Naqvi Ahmed, Brij Gopal, Baby Suman, Paintal, Mahaveer Shah, Malvinderjeet and others.
Editing of this movie was done by Papu Palvindar. Screenplay was written by Tarun Wadhwa and Naqi Ahmed. Other than producing, directing the movie and writing its story and co-writing the screenplay, Tarun Wadhwa also wrote the dialogues of this movie. The titles of this movie mentioned music by Late Sri RD Burman. This movie has six songs (including one multiple version song) written by Rajesh Johri. Music for this movie was composed by Rahul Dev Burman. The playback singers for this movie are Kumar Sanu, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sadhna Sargam, Jolly Mukherjee, and Ranjana Joglekar.
As taken from internet sources the movie in brief is about a young honest man who is falsely implicated in a crime and sent to jail. After coming out of the jail he wants to lead a normal life but the corruption around him and the corrupt system works against him and even his beloved is raped and killed. And when the police didn’t help him in getting justice he decides to and take on the criminals eliminating them one by one. Here is what the narrator (Suresh Oberoi’s voice) says in the background at the beginning of this movie, and that will give readers a fair idea of what this movie is all about, like many other movies coming in those years. “Mil sakegaa kyaa kisee ko is jahaan mein nyaay, ho rahen hain har taraf bas anyaay hee anyaay”.
Today we are going to listen to the first song from this movie which is a duet song in the voices of Kumar Sanu and Sadhna Sargam. Only audio of this song is available. I checked on internet but could not find the video of this song. It might not have been included in the movie it seems. With today’s song this movie ‘Anyaay Hi Anyaay’ makes its debut on the blog.
