Zulfon ko aap yoon na sanwaara karo

Stumbling upon a gem of a song, which I never knew existed, has been quite a regular experience for me over the last few months.
This song is one such song. I may have vaguely heard of a movie called “Chandan ka palna” but I had no idea what this movie was all about. And of course, I had no idea about its songs.
Now I know that this movie was produced in 1967 and it had Dharmendra, Meena Kumari, Mumtaz etc in lead roles. R D Burman was the music director and Anand Bakshi had written the lyrics.
This particular song is a duet sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. It is picturised on Dharmendra and Meena Kumari.
As I mentioned earlier, I heard this 43 years old song for the first time only just now. I am thankful that I did. It is yet another of “new” songs from the past, as far as I am concened.

The two actors also reportedly had real life affair.Though their movies together sucked big time except the smash hit Phool Aur Patthar.
