Dil unko utha ke de diya

I think I need to augment my vocabulary, especially adjectives. As it is, I have been discovering so many great songs that I find myself ill equipped to praise these songs and their creators suitably with my present set of adjectives.
This particular Lata-Madan Mohan song was on my list of farmaishes for several months. The reason why I could not post it earlier was that its link was not available. The fact that I myself was totally unaware of this song was also a consideration.
I stumbled upon this link yesterday, which has been uploaded by none other than that loyal Madan Mohan fan bemused321. There I listened to this song, and once again, I was amazed at the realisation that such an outstanding song should have totally eluded me all these days.
Nevertheless, 50 years is not too long a period to discover a gem like this. Chances are, a song like this may well outlive the present generation and many more generation, such is the timelessness of this song.
It is written by that outstanding wordsmith Rajinder Krishan.
There is farmaish for another song from this movie. And I will definitely post that song as soon as I can locate the link for that song.
PS-It turns out that the video of this song is also available now. I thank Mr Sadanand Kamath for showing me the link to its video. The picturisation shows that the song is picturised on Shyama, with Ashok Kumar also visible.

Just when I think that I have probably heard most if not all of Madan Mohan’s great songs, I run into a gem that I had not heard before. A month or so ago, I came across Lata’s Un Ankhon Mein from Minister (1959) and I could not believe how amazingly beautiful the composition and singing that song represents.
