I have barely heard of this movie called “Ek Baar Muskura Do” (1972). this movie sank without a trace, and with that the aspirations of Debu Mukherji to become a Bollywood hero came to naught.
As far as the music of this movie was concerned, I am realising now that this movie should be regarded as a musical blockbuster. O P Nayyar had not given such wonderful music in a long long time. and Kishore Kumar, the maternal uncle of Debu Mukherji has sung not one, or two, but many outstanding songs in this movie, and almost all of them must be regarded as among the best ever songs that Kishore Kumar sang in his long and illustrious career.
Alas ! the movie flopped and all these great songs suffered as a result.
I have posted couple of outstanding kishore kumar songs from this movie already. Here is another great song sung by kishore Kumar. It is a party song, and one can see Debu Mukherji singing this song for the “bewafa” Tanuja. 😉 Tanuja incidentally was his Bhabhi (sister in law) in real life.

I happened to chance upon your blog when i was browsing for a certain song. Your blog is amazing.
Yes, indeed, Ek Baar Muskura Do has some really beautiful songs. My particular fav is though, the duet, Chehre Se Zara Aanchal, Jab Aapne Sarkaaya Duniya Yeh Pukaar Uthi, Lo Chaand Nikal Aaya…its such romantic song.

Meaningful and thoughtful lyrics, beautiful composition and superb rendition by KK makes this song evergreen and immortal.

This is indeed a very nice song that I hadn’t heard in a long time.
When one hears songs like this or others from this movie, it is amazing how Hindi films had not one, not two but several genius singers at the same time.
Now looking back, I can better appreciate the fact.
Looking forward to more songs form this movie.
