Yaad rahega pyaar ka ye rangeen zamaana yaad rahegaa

I read in a newspaper recently that Gulshan Baawra died in Mumbai at the age of 72.
He had penned some memorable songs, though most people may not be aware of those songs being his creations. For instance, it was Gulshan Baawra who had written the memorable patriotic song of “Upkaar” viz. “mere desh ki dharti sona ugle, ugle heere moti”. He was the lyricist of songs like “Ye mausam rangeen samaa ” (Modern Girl), “aati rahengi bahaarein” (Qasme Waade) etc.
Here is a superb song written by Gulshan Baawra. It is from “Umar Qaid” (1975). Music is by Sonik Omi, and what superb music it is.
The song is sung by Lata and Mukesh and it is picturised on Vinod Mehra and Mausami Chatterji.

Thanks for this interesting information.
When I checked up, I found that Gulshan Baawra is the lyricist of some very fine and memorable songs. I have posted 18 of his songs in this blog. I should look out for more.

it seems the sad song in Manoj Kumar’s “upkar” “har khushi ho wahan, tu jahan bhi rahen, roshni ho wahan, tu jahan bhi rahen”which was half written by him the other half by Manoj Kumar himself—.
this bit of info was there in the bangalore mirror where manoj kumar paid obit to the lyricist
