In “Phagun”(1958), Not all songs were picturised on Bharat Bhushan and Madhubala.
Here is a song from “Phagun” (1958) which is picturised on lesser actors. I can identify the actors as Cuckoo, Dhumal and Mehmood. I request my knowledgeable readers to confirm/ refute them and identify the additional actors too.
This song may have been picturised on lesser actors, but the singers remain the same who sang for the hero and heroine. O P Nayyar believed in the philosophy of “one size fits all”. In movies where he gave music, Rafi sang for all the male actors and Asha Bhonsle sang for all the actresses. 🙂 Not just that, if there were say two male actors in the picturisation, both would sing in Rafi’s voice. Same principle applied if there were two female actors in the picturisation. They would then take turns to lip sync in Asha Bhonsle’s voice.
So here is this song, which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Rafi and picturised on Kammo, Dhumal, Mehmood etc. The song is written by Qamar Jalalabadi.
