Door hato ae duniyaa waalon Hindustaan hamaaraa hai

on:There are several patriotic songs in Hindi movies. Most of these songs were created after independence, when India had already acquired independence. Creating patriotic songs in an independent nation is easy, but just imagine the case when India was not yet an independent nation.
Creating a patriotic song then took lots of guts. The rulers would obviously not take to it kindly. There may have been attempts to slip in patriotic songs but most of them may have been shot down by the censors. Remember, those were the days when a book like “Anand Math ” ( with the song “Vande Matram” in it )was banned because it talked of independence.
The one patriotic song that actually slipped through the net was “Door hato ae duniyaa waalon Hindustan hamaara hai”. This song purportedly was against Japanese imperialism and not against the rulers of India, but the natives knew better. This song actually became a rallying song for the freedom fighters. And surprisingly, this song was never banned by British rulers.
Here is this patriotic song, that was created before Indian independence. Anil Biswas, Kavi Pradeep, Arun Kumar Mukherji and chorus figure in this song. Fittingly, this song was written by Pradeep, who is known for his “straight from the heart” lyrics. Anil Biswas was the music director.
So, here is arguably the very first patriotic song created in Hindi movies, which continues to inspire Indians of all ages even today.
Song-Door hato ae duniyaa waalon Hindustaan hamaara hai (Kismat) (1943) Singers-Anil Biswas,Kavi Pradeep, Arun KUmar Mukherji, Lyrics-Pradeep, MD-Anil Biswas

I thought it would be something subversive but this is out there in the open. Also interesting, the map includes Burma. (I’ve seen two other songs recently in Richard’s blog.)

Atul ji,
“door hato aye duniyawalon”-Kismet-1943
While reading Sharad Dutt’s book “Ritu aaye Ritu jaaye”on Anil Biswas, I found at one place, details about this song discussed by Anil Biswas.
According to his version ( which has to be the real one), this song was sung by Anil Biswas,Kavi pradeep and Arun kumar mukherjee along with the chorus.
I request you to kindly change the credits of the song.
According to Hamandir ji also AB and Pradeep are there in the song.

A huge blockbuster hit. The movie was a trend setter in many ways –
Bichhude bhai, anti hero…
Most older movies tend to be boring when viewed today. This one I think has stood the test of time well.
