Peene ke din aaye piye jaa

Here is one of the earliest drunkard songs from an Hindi movie. The movie is “Khazaanchi” (1941) and the song is “peene ke din aaye piye jaa”.
Picturisation shows a desi version of barmaid (Saaqi) singing this song to encourage her customers to get drunk. She is not a familar face (very few faces from a movie that old can be familiar). I request my knowledgeable readers to identify her and other actors in the picturisation.
The song is sung by Umrao Zia Begam, who was the wife of Ghumal Haider (the music director of this movie). That makes it one of the rare occasions where both Husband and wife have sung songs in the same movie. As it is, I have already posted a song from this movie (Nainon ke baan ki reet niraali (Khazaanchi) )where Ghulam Haider sang.
Wali Saaheb is the lyricist.
I had great difficulty deciphering the words of this song. There are still quite a few missing words as well as errors in the lyrics that I have written down. Readers with keener ears are requested to point out the errors/ corrections/ missing words.
This is a rare to find song, and it is a pleasure to listen to such rare songs sung by such an unknown singer. This song is a rare gem indeed.
