Today Amitabh Bachchan is regarded as the actor of the millenium, but that was not the case in the early days of 1970s. Few bigwigs in Bollywood gave him much of a chance to come good. Most people were in fact quite dismissive of him. Matters were not helped by the fact that most of his earlier movies flopped at the box office.
Just when things looked bleak, “Zanjeer”(1973) happened and Amitabh Bachchan discovered his identity of an angry young man. And that identity helped him reach to unprecedented heights of success.
Here is a song from a post “Zanjeer” movie. This movie also has a similar sounding title called “Zameer” (1975). This movie, which also had Saira Bano and Shammi Kapoor (playing her father, whereas he had played his lover one decade ago in “Junglee”) in it.
Here is a lively song from “Zameer” (1975) which is a philosophical song and it is a song with a message.
This inspirational song is written by Sahir Ludhianvi. Sapan Chakravarty is the music director. Kishore Kumar has sung this song wit his customary enthusiasm and gusto.
