When one mentions “Jaagte Raho”(1956) the one song that readily comes to mind is the song Zindagi khwaab hai. This movie had other nice songs in it too, such as the song Jaago Mohan pyaare jaago.

I am not much aware of this movie called “Amaanat”(1955) which is one of four movies of this name, others being “Amaanat” (1943), “Amaanat” (1977) and “Amaanat” (1994).

Here is a very old song from an old and forgotten movie called “Nazma” (1943). This song is sung by two female singers. This song could be called a song of contrasting moods or a happy-sad song, where Sitara Devi exudes happiness and joy whereas Parul Ghosh sings with sadness and pathos.

Ae mere watan ke logon

I have discussed many patriotic songs from Hindi movies in this blog. But one of the most popular of all Hindi patriotic songs in a non movie song. This song , “ae mere watan ke logon” was created by C Ramchandra to boost the morale of the Indian Army who were then fighting external aggression against heavy odds.

Though the first few lines of this song are the same as Iqbal’s song, other lines of this song are different. This patriotic song is from “Bhai Bahan” (1959). This song is sung by ASha Bhonsle and picturised on a kid. I have no idea about the identity of the kid. I request my knowledgeable readers to help identify the actor.
