“Naya Raastaa” (1970) is somehow a movie that is largely unknown. It comes as a great surprise to me because it was an a grade movie starring Jeetendra and Asha Parekh.
Not just that, this movie had some superb songs in it, including the inspirational and iconic song Ponch kar ashq apni aankhon se. I have in fact discussed too songs from this movie.
While looking for Holi songs to discuss, I was pleasantly surprised to know that this movie had a holi songs in it. Like the other songs in this movie as well as the movie, this song too has managed to stay hidden and un noticed.
Here is this nice holi song from “Nayaa Raastaa” (1970). This song is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. It is picturised on Jeetendra, Asha Parekh and others. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by N Datta.
And here is hoping a happy (and safe) Holi to all the readers who are celebrating this festival today.
