“Hyderabad Ki Naazneen” (1952) is an obsure movie with equally obscure music. But I keep finding myself coming back to this discuss songs from this movie. The movie is studded with forgotten gems that few people are aware of.
Here is a song from this movie. It is sung by Talat Mehmood in his typically silken voice.
The song is a background song which plays while the hero (who is he ? ) walks around the streets of Hyderabad, with familiar landmarks of Hyderabad visible at a distance. Watching the picturisation is like going back in time. It is interesting to watch the familiar landmarks sans the other eyesore structures that have since come up around them later on.
Noor Lucknowi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Vasant Desai.
PS-This song in fact has two versions in the sense that the same song was picturised a second time in the movie (though record of this second version was not issued). Picturisationwise, this song becomes a multiple version song.

Atul ji,
After seeing this song video,one wonders how the hero(like a superman),traversed thru’ all the landmark sites shown in the background in about 3 minutes’ time.Being from Hyderabad myself,I know how far off these places are.We can,ofcourse treat this as a cinematic liberty !

Whether he is the same Manhar desai who acted as father of Sarika in Geet gata chal and in B.R.Ishara`s Premshastra(Dev -anand,zeenat aman starring-in this film he acted in a role of customer of Bindu)?????Further I think he acted in many religious movies in early seventies.

Prakashchandra ji,
Yes,he is the same Manhar desai,who acted in 102 films (majority of them were mythologicals,historic and fantasy films).
His career started in 1948 with Ajamil and ended (in Hindi) with Society-1987.
He also acted in many Gujarati films.
