Kaliyon ko choomoon taaron se kheloon

Going deep into the ocean of Hindi movie music often yields some invaluable and rare gems which few people knew existed. Here in this blog, we keep discussing such songs on a regular basis.
Here is one such rare gem. This song is from an unheard of movie called “Gul Bahaar” (1954). Hardly any information is available about this movie. It was produced by M P films and directed by N Vakil. The cast of this movie had names like Hemant, Shakila, Kuldip Kaur, Ram Avtaar, Randhir, Khairati, Uma Devi etc, which makes it clear that the movie had little hope of making it big at the box office.
The makers of this movie hired lesser known artists for acting as well as music, but apparently they could not afford any money to publicise their movie or its music. As a result, neither the movie nor the music of this movie seems to be availably easily enough today.
Here is an extremely rare song from this movie. It is a great news for many music lovers to know that this song is sung by Mubarak Begam. Asad Bhopali is the lyricist. This movie had two music directors, namely Khayyam and Dhaniram. And there is no unanimity among sources about the music director of this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter.
Song-Kaliyon ko choomoon taaron se kheloon (Gul Bahaar) (1954) Singer-Mubarak Begam, Lyrics-Asad Bhopali, MD-Khaiyyam/Dhaniram
Lyrics
kaliyon ko choomoon
taaron se kheloon
ho kaliyon ko choomoon
taaron se kheloon
kehta hai dil
kehta hai dil
main bahaaron se kheloon
kehta hai dil
main bahaaron se kheloon
kaliyon ko choomoon
taaron se kheloon
kehta hai dil
main bahaaron se kheloon
kehta hai dil
main bahaaron se kheloon
jawaani ko armaan ne jhoolaa jhulaaye
ho jhoolaa jhulaaye
umangen mere husn ko gudgudaaye
husn ko gudgudaaye
nayi zindagi ke sahaaron se kheloon
ho nayi zindagi ke sahaaron se kheloon
kehta hai dil
kehta hai dil
main bahaaron se kheloon
kehta hai dil
main bahaaron se kheloon
Nayee aarzuon mein
behne lagaa dil
ho behne lagaa dil
akele mein chupke se kehne lagaa dil
ho kehne lagaa dil
main toofaan ban ke kinaaron se kheloon
ho toofaan ban ke kinaaron se kheloon
kehta hai dil
kehta hai dil
main bahaaron se kheloon
kehta hai dil
main bahaaron se kheloon

Atul ji,
The music for the above song was given by DHANIRAM.
KHAYYAM gave music to only 2 songs(out of 6) ‘lagi aisi nahin….” and “gar teri nawajish ho jaye”.
