“Mom Ki Gudiya” (1973) is a movie that was produced and directed by Mohan Kumar. The movie had Tanuja, Ratan Chopra, Jeevan, Helen, Tuntun, Premnath, Nazeer Hussain, Paaro, Brahmchari, Raj Mehra, Meena T, Brahma Bhardwaj, Rashid Khan etc in it.
This movie is today forgotten alongwith its music, but the movie had some nice songs in it. I have discussed one song from this movie namely Baaghon me bahaar aayi where Anand Bakshi had sung a duet with Lata.
Here is another song from “Mom Ki Gudiya” (1972). This song is sung by Lata. It is picturised on Tanuja (playing a “pativrata” woman) and Ratan Chopra playing her husband. I wonder who Ratan Chopra was and what happened to him after this movie. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this matter.

I have seen Ratan Chopra in another movie released in 1977 AAINA
(a South Indian production-remake directed by K.Balchander. His role in that movie is full of grey shades. He played the role of a customer of Mumtaz who forcefully takes on the profession of prostituion and sells her body to meet the needs of her traditional big Brahmin joint family. He also marries Mumtaz`s sister in that movie. I do have only that much memory of that movie , which has got good musical score by NAUSHAD saab.
