Aane waale jab aayenge
Posted on: December 6, 2011
Discussing Sajjad Hussain compositions in this blog is always special, and more so because the remaining Sajjad Hussain songs that are being discussed now are extremely rare to find.
Thankfully, Mr Khwaja Sultan Ahmad, a regular of this blog has some rare songs of Sajjad Hussain with him which he has kindly uploaded. So now we can listen to Sajjad Hussain songs that few people may have heard before.
Take this song from “Dharam” (1945), for example. This song does not figure anywhere in the list of songs composed by Sajjad Hussain. That is how rare this song is ! It is perhaps the rarest of all Sajjad Hussain compositions.
This song is sung by Naseem, who I guess is the same as Naseem Begam and different from Naseem Akhtar. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the singer.
Shewan Rizvi is the lyricist.
So, here is this rarest of Rare Sajjad Hussain composition, which happens to be the 74th Sajjad Hussain composition in this blog.
PS-I have not been able to get the words fully to my satisfaction in some places. I request readers with keener ears to point out the errors in the lyrics.
Song-Aane waale jab aayenge (Dharam)(1945) Singer-Naseem, Lyrics-Shewan Rizvi, MD-Sajjad Hussain
Lyrics
Aane waale

aane waale jab aayenge
jeewan shaam ho jaayenge

o rain badi matwaali hogi
chaand ke haath mein thaali hogi
o rain
o rain badi matwaali hogi
chaand ke haath mein thaali hogi
gagan gagan deewaali hogi
taare deep jalaayenge
aane waale
ae ae
aane waale

aane waale
aane waale jab aayenge
jeewan shaam ho jaayenge
aane waale
ik man se unki poojaa karoongi

Atul ji,
I think the singer IS Naseem Akhtar (about whom I have given details in my comments on 7-5-2011,on the song ‘Unka ishara…’ from pehli Nazar.)
Naseem Akhtar has sang many songs for Khwaja khurshid Anwar. This must be one of them.
I know of Naseem Bano-mother of Saira Bano, but I do not know about any singer Naseem Begum.

The singer of this song is neither Nasim Bano nor Nasim Akhtar
.Nasim Bano never gave play-back and was not amongst the cast of Dharam. Nasim Akhtar was of punjabi origin and can easily be recognized by her style. Nasim Akhter sang only two songs for Khurshid Anwar in Aaj-aur-Kal. Jaam utha le peenay waale and Kaliyun ko massalne aye hain. This song has been composed by Sajjad Hussain and not khurshid Anwar

Khwaja Sultan Ahmed ji,
Agreed, but can you please tell us who could be the singer of this song, since this info is difficult to come by as this film was never released and no documentation is available.

Dear Mr Deshmukhji,
Film Dharam was directed by Ramnik Desai and ithe cast included Rattan Bai,Maduhri.E.Billimoria, Maya devi and Leela Panday. In my humble view Naseem appears to be some lessor known singer.

The singer is not Naseem Akhtar Ji. The voice is observably quite low – pitched and high notes are not much. It is some lesser known Naseem. Amirbai Ji, Zohrabai Ji, Rajkumari Ji, Shamshad Begum Ji, Parul Ghosh Ji, Zeenat Begum Ji, Naseem Akhtar Ji, Mohantara Ji, Binapani Ji, Lalita Deolkar Ji – all of these famous singers had quite high – pitched voices. They could very easily adjust to high pitches, which is one of the reasons they were very popular among composers as playback artistes. High pitch had gained a lot of prominence in the 1940s since the very beginning. Thanks a lot for sharing the song and bringing it to my notice, please do keep up the great job. My best wishes.

Anil Bhargava’s book “Swaron ki Yatra” lists this song from Dharma-45,as a song of Naseem Akhtar, confirming my original statement.

That is wrong Sir. Her voice can be easily recognised even in several uncredited songs, this is not sung by her. By the way, is a sample of that book available anywhere online? I would like to ask you about it sometime…thanks 🙂

Atul ji,
My two cents:
The voice in the song sounds like that of Hamida Bano. Listen to her other song from the film for comparison:
