So I come across this foot tapping melody by Rafi Saab, and as I start looking for details, up comes the name of the picture – “Miss ‘58”. First reaction is ‘wow, ok’. But then, thinking of the film “Mr and Mrs ‘55”, well why not “Miss ‘58”. Then a little more browsing on the blog reveals that there are already six films represented here whose names start with ‘Miss. . .’. and eight films starting with ‘Mr. . .’, and of course ‘Mr and Mrs 55’. And a cursory browse through the list of films from other sources, shows that there still are more films starting with ‘Miss’ and ‘Mr’ that are awaiting entry on this website.
YouTube is getting addictive, and one just keeps jumping from one song to another, such is the power of their display of suggested additional songs. When I saw this entry, the name of the film intrigued me and I pulled it up. And it turns out to be a gem of a plucky song with a very racy tempo. I have no idea about this film, except what I can pull out from the Geet Kosh. A social drama produced under the banner of AK Movies, Bombay, and is produced and directed by Kuldeep C Kahar. The star cast is impressive, in that it includes Suraiyyaa, Karan Dewan, Om Prakash, Baby Naaz, Madan Puri, Krishan Dhawan, Jagdish Kanwal, Ram Mohan, Baldev Mehta, Krishna Kumari, Radhika, Meena, Omi Kapoor, D Kumar, Manohar, Ralhan, Gamola. The film has 5 songs listed, written by three poets – Kaif Irfani, Tanveer Naqvi and Raja Mehndi Ali Khan. This particular song is penned by Tanveer Naqvi. The music composition is by N Dutta. Listening to this song, one is reminded of the famous song “Laal Laal Gaal. . . “ from the film ‘Mr. X’; not in terms of the tune but in terms of the tempo and the liveliness. Rafi Saab has rendered this song with just the right mix of verve and exuberance. A song emanating from a heart that is probably experiencing the emotions of love for the first time.
Since only the audio of the song is available, it is not feasible to comment on its on-screen performance. I request other readers to please add more information about the film and the picturization of this song. In the meanwhile, enjoy this lovely foot tapping number composed by N Dutta.
