One song from this film “Yahudi ki Beti” was posted in the blog by Sudhir Sir. This link to this particular song under discussion now has been with me for a long time. There is a lot of confusion in youtube and even earthmusic.net about the name of the music director of this film. Even the name of singer is also a confusion. This particular link that I have found is for Mohammed Rafi solo version. The clip itself is giving the name of music director as Hemant Kumar. Earthmusic mentions this song as sung by Lata Mangeshkar and also by Asha-Hemant Kumar.”The songs are confused and mixed up with “”Yehudi ki ladki”(1957). To add to the confusion, there was a film with similar name i.e. “Yahudi ki Ladki” in 1933 too.
The most famous film among all these “Yahudi..” movies is Dilip Kumar-Meena Kumari starrer “Yahudi”(1958). It has that classic Mukesh song Ye mera deewaanapan hai composed by Shankar Jaikishan. Whenever I hear this song, the black and white vision of Dilip Kumar, with white hair(light colour hair to depict a Roman prince),appears before me in total recall. And since all these films are based on the same story/Drama by Aaga Hashr Kashmiri, similar situation songs in all these “Yahudi…” movies are inevitable.
And this Rafi solo “pyaar beqaraar hai pyaar ki pukaar sun” is similar in mood to Mukesh’s song from “Yahudi”. I am guessing that this is a same situation in the film, because only the audio link of this song is available on youtube. The audio quality is not so good, but still the song is enchanting and lingers in the memory after it is over. The song is said to be picturized on ‘Daljeet’.
Finally I think it is time this song features here. The song is sung by Mohammed Rafi, written by Kaifi Azmi. And the composer is Kamal Mitra.

This song I liked very much on very first hearing,I repeatedly listen ,touching song,LATJI’s version is also good,littlebit slower than rafiji’s version,but it does it’s work,in my opinion,as well many listners like MALE version more,,than female version,This topic also should be discussed.But as far as Music director ,and lyricist are concerned,they are Kamal mitra and Kaifi azmi respectively.I have seen the 78 rpm disc.One of our freind Mr.Praful Patel [who is in U.S.A NOW]was crazy for this song.We remeber this song AS PRAFUL’S song.

YAHUDI KI BETI became famous for 2 reasons.One was for its very good music.Its 2 songs-ye pyar bhara dil hai …by Hemant and Asha and the other being-Pyar bekarar hai…by Lata.
secondly,it was also the First film in which TABASSUM starred as a Heroine.
The Music Director KAMAL MITRA was a reasonably wellknown composer in Bengal.He gave music to Yehudi Ki Beti-56 and Bansariwala-57.Not getting popularity and new films,Kamal Mitra returned to his homeground-Bengal.

Is the Lata Song available anywhere ? I searched for all options of this song on youtube. Even the Asha-Hemant Duet as said by earthmusic.net.

I too have found the song details in myswar.com through google. But the option for listening or downloading is not there. If it was there i would have given that link.
And the thanks for the link of Asha-Hemant duet, which is a different song. I was totally confused when i found earthmusic.net mentioning ‘pyaar be-qaraar hai ” as a Asha-Hemant duet once and Lata Solo next. While i had the link to this Rafi solo only.
Anyways the Rafi solo is too nice to just keep with myself and not share on this blog. Even than I was not sure about this song actually being from ‘yehudi ki beti’ . As stated in the post this link was there with me for months before i finally wrote a post and sent it. Let us hope, sooner or later even the Lata solo will appear on youtube/daily motion.
