“Nadirshah” (1968) was an Amarjeet Production movie. It was directed by S N Tripathi. The movie had Sheikh Mukhtaar, Feroz Khan, Naaz, Minoo Mumtaz, Hiralal, P Kailash, Murad etc in it.
When one watches the opening scene of the movie when the credits roll in, it is seen that only three playback singers are credited in the movie, viz. Rafi, Suman Kalyanpur and Asha Bhonsle. One would expect the casting of a movie to be accurate and exhaustive. But that does not seem to be the case here. For instance, the opening credits of the movie is accompanied by a background song which is very clearly in the voice of Mahendra Kapoor (and his name does not appear in the credits !).
Here is a song from “Nadirshah” (1968). According to the credits in the movie, this song is supposed to be sung by Suman Kalyanpur, but the voice sounds like Lata and in fact it is credited as Lata in various places. Apparently the gramophone records of the songs were later released in Lata’s voice instead of Suman Kalyanpur, but here the picturised version itself sounds like it is in Lata’s voice. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on all this confusion.

And at some place the song is credited to Asha Bhonsle!!! I know some confusion is there. However it is crystal clear that it is sung by Lata. Notwithstanding let us enjoy the song. Its lovely.
