Ab kyaa teri marzi re

Posted on: April 9, 2013

“Neelkamal” (1947) was produced and directed by Kidar Sharma. The movie had Raj Kapoor and Madhubala in lead roles. The movie also had Begam Para, Nazira, Rajendra, Shanta Kumari, Baby Indira, Kumar Sahu , Pesi Patel, Subhashini etc in it.

Six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the seventh song from the movie. This song is sung by Rajkumari and Geeta Dutt in tandem. The song is picturised as a mujra song in a royal court where four female dancers sing and dance while the decadent king watches the performance. Towards the end of the song, a messenger comes with the urgenmt message that ememies had attacked and were approaching the palace. After this “breaking news”, the song and dance resumes. 🙂

Kidar Sharma is the lyricist of this song. Music is composed by Snehal Bhatkar whose worked in this movie under the preudonym of B Vasudev.

The last few days have seen a spate of centuries by our regular contributors. This song marks yet another century contribution to the blog. This is the 300th lyrics contribution of Nitij Shah. Seeing that his first lyrics contribution was in early 2012, this is easily the fastest triple century among all lyrics contributors to the blog. I take this opportunity to congratulate Nitin Shah on behalf of all of us in the blog.

Seeing the volume of his lyrics pending with me, I am sure that he will notch many more centuries in the blog in due course of time as this music bangwagon continues to roll on its journey.

kya teri marzi re
abb kya teri marzi re
marzi re
baalam bedardi
bol bol baalam bedardi
kya teri marzi re
abb kya teri marzi re
baalam bedardi
abb kya teri marzi re
baalam bedardi

saas nanad se chori aayi
saas nanad se chori aayi
chhail(?) bhanwar sang rain ganwaai
chhail(?) bhanwar sang rain ganwaai
main bharpaai re
abb main bharpaai re
baalam bedardi
bol bol baalam bedardi
kya teri marzi re
abb kya teri marzi re
baalam bedardi
abb kya teri marzi re
baalam bedardi

dekhat hon do nain hamaare
dekhat hon do nain hamaare
kab se karat hain balam ishaare
kab se karat hain balam ishaare
abb ham aave hain
abb ham aave hain
baalam bedardi
bol bol baalam bedardi
kya teri marzi re
abb kya teri marzi re
baalam bedardi
abb kya teri marzi re
baalam bedardi

sar se aanchal bhi sarkaaya
sar se aanchal bhi sarkaaya
tu paas na aaya re
tu paas na aaya re
baalam bedardi
bol bol baalam bedardi
kya teri marzi re
abb kya teri marzi re
baalam bedardi
abb kya teri marzi re
baalam bedardi

I am truly overwhelmed by the accolades. Sudhirji: Thanks for likening me to Chris Gayle. Though I cannot show you the jig I did after reading the news.
Though it was fastest triple century it was strewn with many ‘dot’ days if I may say so. It took 404 days with 104 dot days. Like you cannot score on every ball you cannot get logged everyday.
There are still many oldy goldies to be featured and are yet to take their place of pride.
I cannot thank Atulji more without whom this could not have been possible. Thanks again to all

Nitinji
congrats on ur triple century.
i agree with you one cannot log in daily which only atul can do… he has some patience with blogging. but your feat is no mean one imagine 404 days for a triple century and there are people like me who write lyrics mentally on a daily basis and send it occasionally and ve reached only 27 over a period of a year and half. of course there is also a question of “mera number kab ayanga atul?” everytime on my mind. but ur song section is more melodious and vintage so more apt for this blog.
so congrats once again

Peevesie’s Mom,
I think even you can do it if you can concentrate on vintage stuff as you mention it.
