Kahaan tak ham uthhaayen gham

on:“Aarzoo” (1950) was an Indian National Production movie. It was directed by Shahid Latif. The movie had Dilip Kumar, kamini Kaushal, Dilip Kumar, Gope, Cuckoo, Arif, Prem Dhawan, Shashikala, Sita Bose, Neelam, Khan, Ganju, Chandabai etc in it.
Eight songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the ninth song from the movie.
This song is a melancholic song . It is sung by Lata. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by Anil Biswas.
The song is picturised on Kamini Kaushal.
According to Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our beloved inhouse encyclopaedia, this is the ninth and final song from the movie according to HFGK. I am relieved to know that. I had looked at the myswar site and there two additional songs (written by Jaan Nisaar Akhtar and sung by S D Batish and Mukesh respectively) are listed under “Aarzoo” (1950). I do not know how this site has come up with these songs when HFGK mentions only nine songs. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on this matter of these two so called additional songs from “Aarzoo” (1950, viz, “Lo Ye Aafat Bhi Tali” (sung by S D Batish) and “Apne Pehlu Mein Samjhta Tha Ki Dil Rakhti” (sung by Mukesh.
Assuming that there were only nine songs in the movie, “Aarzoo” (1950) joins the list of movies that have all the songs covered in the blog.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.

Song-kahaan tak ham uthaayen gham (Aarzoo)(1950) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Majrooh Sultanpuri, MD-Anil Biswas
Lyrics(Provided by Nitin Shah)
kahaan tak ham uthaayen gham
jiyen abb yaa ke maar jaayen
kahaan tak ham uthaayen gham
jiyen abb yaa ke maar jaayen
arre zaalim
muqaddar
yeh bataa de
ham kidhar jaayen
arre zaalim
muqaddar
yeh bataa de
ham kidhar jaayen
ham unka naam lekar kaat denge zindagi apni
ham unka naam lekar kaat denge zindagi apni
na woh aayen
magar milne ka phir vaada toh kar jaayen
na woh aayen
magar milne ka phir vaada toh kar jaayen
papeehe se kaho
gaaye naa woh naghme bahaaron ke
papeehe se kaho
gaaye naa woh naghme bahaaron ke
kaho gulshan ujad jaaye
kaho kaliyaan bikhar jaayen
kaho gulshan ujhad jaaye
kaho kaliyaan bikhar jaayen
arre zaalim
muqaddar
yeh bataa de ham kidhar jaayen
kahaan tak ham uthaayen gham
jiyen abb yaa ke maar jaayen

Atul,
The credit title of the film shows the name of Jaan Nisar Akhtar as one of the lyricists, other two being Majrooh Sultanpuri and Prem Dhawan. All nine songs covered in the blog, were written by Majrooh Sultanpuri (7) and Prem Dhawan (2). So what happened to the song(s) written by Jaan Nisar Akhtar?
As per an article in Hamara Forum (Sangeet Ke Sitaare), Majrooh Sultanpuri had written only the Shamshad Begum part of the song https://atulsongaday.me/2013/07/25/jaao-sidhaaro-hey-raadha-ke-shyaam/ when he went underground and later jailed for his anti- Govt poems. It was Jaan Nisar Akhtar who completed the lyrics for Mukesh and S D Batish parts of the song.
Incidentally, I find that a line ‘apne pehlu mein samajhta thaa ke dil rakhti hai tu’ purported to have been sung by Mukesh as per ‘myswar.com (also as per the list of all songs composed by Anil Biswas in PDF form in ‘gitaayan.com) appears in the song ‘jaao sidhaaro hey raadha ke shyaam’ but sung by S D Batish. However, I did not find the line ‘lo ye aafat bhi tali’ in this song.
So, the number of songs in the film is nine. The song ‘jaao sidhaaro….’ is a joint effort of both Majrooh Sultanpuri and Jaan Nisar Akhtar as per the article quoted above.

Its a 3-part song, part of a stage drama in the movie, according to geetkosh.
9.(a) jao sidharo : shamshad/majrooh
9.(b) lo yeh aafar: batish/jaan nisar
9.(c) apne pehlu: mukesh/jaan nisar
Its immaterial if its considered one song with 3 parts or 3 separate songs as per myswar, movie is not complete until all parts are covered.

Meaning, since they are all listed as separate parts by geetkosh, it would be interesting to see if their separate audios are available, which may or may not equal to the one “combined” video song posted here:
Considering the era, my guess is that they are all covered here since its already amounts to 8min plus video song.
