on:“Raaz” (1967) was a Sippy Films Production. It was directed by Ravindra Dave. The movie had Rajesh Khanna, Babita, I. S. Johar, Khurshid, D. K. Sapru, Kamal Kapoor, Ratnamala, Narmada Shankar, Asit Sen, Meena T., Laxmi Chhaya, Surjeet Bedi, Rahul, Harindranath Chattopadhyay, Pandharibai, Harbans Darshan M. Arora etc in it.
Six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the seventh song from the movie. It is sung by Lata. The picturisation of the saw begins as a bathroom shower song but it lasts only as long as the initial alaaps of the song. Subswequntly the lady is visible only in a post shower outfit.
The lipsyncing female looks like Babita and she is Babita, but sometimes the lady looks different to me. But then my eyes are not what they used to me. Most probably it is just babita in the picturisation.
Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Atif M.

aa aa
aa aa
aa aa
aa aa

ae ji
zara sun’na
unse nahin kehna
ae ji
zara sun’na
unse nahin kehna
hum to unki mast nazar se
pee ke aaye jaam
ae ji
zara sun’na
unse nahin kehna
chaand ka
jalwa na poochho
chaand ka
jalwa na poochho
pyaar kyun
machla na poochho
nazaare hi nazaare
ishaare hi ishaare
nazaare hi nazaare
ishaare hi ishaare
na socha
na samjha
kiya unhen salaam
ae ji
zara sun’na
unse nahin kehna
ae ji
zara sun’na
unse nahin kehna
hum to unki mast nazar se
pee ke aaye jaam
ae ji
zara sun’na
unse nahin kehna
aag thhi
donon dilon mein
aag thhi
donon dilon mein
pyaas thhi
donon labon pe
badhe thhe woh udhar se
badhe thhe hum idhar se
badhe thhe woh udhar se
badhe thhe hum idhar se
woh ruke
hum ruke
jigar ko liya thaam
ae ji
zara sun’na
unse nahin kehna
ae ji
zara sun’na
unse nahin kehna
hum to unki mast nazar se
pee ke aaye jaam
ae ji
zara sun’na
unse nahin kehna

“The lipsyncing female looks like Babita and she is Babita, but sometimes the lady looks different to me. But then my eyes are not what they used to me. Most probably it is just babita in the picturisation.” – What a superb piece of tongue in cheek humour 🙂
Thanks Atul ji for this melodious & mirthful journey!
Warm Regards,
