#The Decade of Seventies – 1971 – 1980 #
—————————————————
# Bhoole-Bisre Geet # 154 # Year -1971#
———————————————–————————
Finally, the year ‘2021’ has become a past now and with that the ‘year 1971’ has become fifty years old too. That is how time flies.
We had been celebrating ‘fifty years’ of the year ‘1971’ and have looked on the movies released in 1971 in earlier posts given below.
- Man ke korey kaaghaz pe tasveer kheench lo Ram ki
- Mujhe neend aa gayi thhi
- Ye meri balaa jaane kitne hain yahaan gham
In the above posts we have seen the details of movies released from January-April’1971, then May-August’1971 and finally the details of movies released from September-December’1971 respectively in these three posts.
The following movies from 1971 which do not have the details of ‘date of passing by censor board’ didn’t find a mention in above posts and so was the case for the movies ‘un-released’ (which are considered from this year 1971).
However, there is one movie ‘Bombay Talkie’ of which the ‘censor certificate date’ is mentioned in HFGK but it features in the list of movies unreleased.
Movie Title | Director | Music Director |
Ek Naari Ek Brahmachaari | KP Atma | Shankar-Jaikishan |
Hangaamaa | SM Abbas | RD Burman |

Bombay Talkie (UR? /19.02.1971) | Shankar-Jaikishan | |

The above movies are those which have already been represented on the blog and some of them have been Yippeee’d too or covered with all the songs in the respective movies.
Three movies viz. ‘Agent 999’* (aka ‘C.I.D. Agent 999’*, ‘Operation Jackpot’), ‘Nanhi Kaliyaan’ and ‘Revolver Rani’ have yet to make a debut on the blog. As of now, the songs from these movies seem to be not available.
So, given below is the full list of the movies from 1971.

Out of the total 662 songs from the above movies so far, we have covered 412 songs on the blog.
(Note– more movies (from un-released) can get included in the year 1971 if their date of passing or releasing is noticed, and it is from this year 1971).
Today we listen a song from the movie ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’ and say Yippeee to this movie on the blog.
Following is the details of the songs of this movie as mentioned in HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980).

01 | Hello, aap yahaan aaye kisliye | Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar | Neeraj | 15.09.2010 |
02 | Kisi ke dil ko sanam leke yoon nahin | Sharda | Hasrat Jaipuri | 15.09.2020 |

06 | Tik tik tik … chalti jaaye ghadi | Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh | Neeraj | 12.09.2015 |
Today’s song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar, and I consider this song as a well-known song, because it was frequently heard in those years. I vaguely remember, in my childhood days, seniors in the family would tease each-other by singing this song or remembering this song as an expression of loving each other longer.
The song is
ham jab honge ae saatth saal ke ae aur tum hogi pachpan ki
bolo preet nibhaaogi naa tab bhi apne bachpan ki
I was thinking to post this song on the new year day, considering that it would be suitable for those who reached their ‘sixties’ in this year and their spouses are of fifty-five years old. At least if not a ‘resolution type’ song, this song serves as a ‘promise to keep song’ for continuing to love each other even when both partners grow older and older, with the passing of each year. And particularly when they are of ‘sixty’ and ‘fifty-five’ respectively. (Now-a-days it can be vice versa also 🙂 )
This song also reminded me the qawwali “Badaa Lutf Thha Jab Kunwaare Thhe Hum Tum” shared by me and posted on 02.01.2016 on the blog. This qawwali song is telling about the joy of youth and youthful days, or simply the joy of bachelorhood before getting married and the life after marriage.
As mentioned above today’s song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Kishore Kumar and on screen it is lip-synced by the beautiful Babita and Randhir Kapoor respectively.
With today’s song this movie ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’ has all its songs covered on the blog and this movie now joins the ‘list of movies – all songs covered’. The movie started its journey on 15.09.2010 on the blog and ends it today.
Let us now enjoy today’s song …

Song – Hum Jab Honge Saatth Saal Ke (Kal Aaj Aur Kal) (1971) Singer – Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle, Lyrics – Shaily Shailendra, MD – Shankar Jaikishan
Lyrics
kya
hum jab honge ae
saatth saal ke ae
aur tum hogi pachpan ki
bolo preet nibhaaogi naa
tab bhi apne bachpan ki
kya kya
kya
(Coughing sound)
hum jab honge saatth saal ke
aur tum hogi pachpan ki
bolo preet nibhaaogi naa
tab bhi apne bachpan ki
hum jab honge saatth saal ke
aur tum hogi pachpan ki
bolo preet nibhaaogi naa
tab bhi apne bachpan ki
tum jab honge saatth saal ke
aur main hoongi pachpan ki
preet ki jyot jalaaungi main
tab bhi apne bachpan ki
haan baahon ka sahaara ho jab
lakdi kyon hum tekenge
aankh bhale dhundhli ho jaayen
dil ki nazar se dekhenge ae
haan baahon ka sahaara ho jab
lakdi kyon hum tekenge
aankh bhale dhundhli ho jaayen
dil ki nazar se dekhenge
aankhon mein tum yoonhi dekhna
aankhon mein tum yoonhi dekhna
kya hai zaroorat darpan ki
bolo preet nibhaaogi naa
tab bhi apne bachpan ki
tum jab honge saatth saal ke
aur main hoongi pachpan ki
preet ki jyot jalaaungi main
tab bhi apne bachpan ki
roop ki ye mastaani dhoop
ik din to dhal jaayegi
aur kismat bhi chehre pe ae
samay ka rang mal jaayegi
haan aa roop ki ye mastaani dhoop
ik din to dhal jaayegi
aur kismat bhi chehre pe ae
samay ka rang mal jaayegi
tum tab kahin badal naa jaana
tum tab kahin badal naa jaana
qasam tumhe is dhadkan ki
bolo preet nibhaaoge naa
tab bhi apne bachpan ki
haan aa thhandi mein tum
sweater bun’naa
hum lakdi chun laayenge
bachchon ke sang bachche ban kar
hum donon tutlaayenge
(Laughing sound in female voice)
haan aa thhandi mein tum
sweater bun’naa
hum lakdi chun laayenge
bachchon ke sang bachche ban kar
hum dono tutlaayenge
miljul kar hum saath rahenge
miljul kar hum saath rahenge
baat na hogi an-ban ki
bolo preet nibhaaogi naa
tab bhi apne bachpan ki ee
tum jab honge saatth saal ke
aur main hoongi pachpan ki
preet ki jyot jalaaungi main
tab bhi apne bachpan ki
huyi huyi huyi
hum jab honge saatth saal ke
aur tum hogi pachpan ki
bolo preet nibhaaogi naa
tab bhi apne bachpan ki

Aa jaa Raaja le ke baaraat aa jaa

Blog 10-Year Challenge (2010-2020) – Song No. 24

“Anmol Moti”(1969) was produced and directed by S D Narang. The movie had Jeetendra, Babita, Rajendra Nath, Jayant, Aruna Irani, Shabnam, Jagdeep, Jayant, DK Sapru, Veena, Tuntun, Saul George, Gajanan Jagirdar, Jeevan, Hari Shivadasani, Jagdish Raj, Meena T, Prakash Thapa, Niranjan Sharma, Iftekhar, Uma Datt, Kanu Roy, Tiwari, Abhimanyu Sharma, Om Sahani, Baby Meena, Baby Mozal, Baby Neena, Basant, Hansa, Khursheed, Lajpat Mehra, Miss Gillain, Miss Kerian, Moolchand, Moses, Mrs Hacker, Narbada Shankar, Raj Deep, Rajan Kapoor, Ramesh, Ramlal, Razak, Sham, Sudha, Sundeep, Susheela, Uma Khosla etc in it.
The movie had six songs in it. Two songs have been covered in the past. The movie had made its debut ten years ago on this very day with the song Ae jaane chaman tera goraa badan .
That day ten years ago saw only two songs covered in the blog. The other song apart from the “Anmol Moti”(1969) debut song was Akela hoon main hamsafar dhoondhhta hoon from “Jaal”(1969). This movie has since been YIPPEED in the blog.
Only two songs from “Anmol Moti”(1969) have been covered in the blog. So there is choice of as many as four songs today as “Blog Ten Year Challenge” post. As it is, Prakashchandra as well as Avinash Scrapwala both sent songs for this challenge, and they sent different songs ! Prakashchandra sent his contribution earlier, so I am going with the song sent by him as “Blog Ten Year Challenge” post.
This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and chorus. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ravi.
This is one song that I have listened to a lot of time. It is one of those iconic songs that I used to listen to during my formative years, even though I had no clue what movie these songs were from. I have listened to this song many a times, on loudspeakers as well as Radio. It is only now, more than 50 years later, on this day 25 April 2020 that I have come to know that this iconic song is from “Anmol Moti”(1969). I can be that kind of a tubelight. 🙂
The song is picturised as a boat/ river song on Babita, with Jeetendra also making a belated appearance. Many other ladies (who appear like foreigners, perhaps from Soviet Union) are also seen in the picturisation, performing synchronised swimming, underwater swimming etc.
As mentioned earlier, lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra, who pips Avinash Scrapwala to the post for this “Blog Ten Year Challenge” opportunity.

Atul Song-A-Day 15K Song Milestone Celebrations – 2
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
Welcome all to this special occasion where we are now celebrating Fifteen thousand song-posts on the blog!!! My heartiest congratulations to Atul ji, Sudhir ji and our respected senior and other team members on the blog and to all of our readers and well-wishers of this blog.
Well, my ‘love story’ (‘Prem Kahaani’, pehle ‘affair’ likhnewaala tha, phir ‘relationship’, phir thhik karke ‘love story’ likha 🙂 ) with this blog started around 2009 and it was because of Sahir Saab’s song ‘Dil Karta O Yaara Dildaara Mera Dil Karta’ (which I was looking because it was in my memory and nostalgic for me). So, thanks are very much due to Sahir Saab and I thank him for that. (I am sure he is accepting it there 🙂 )
My first comment was also on a song penned by Sahir Saab ‘Kashti Ka Khamosh Safar Hai’ – that was in 2009. Still, it took me three years more to become a contributor on this blog which happened in 2012.
How much I loved this blog and how HFM was my hobby earlier and became a passion later, and how HFM and this blog became an important part of my life thereafter, has been mentioned by me in few of my other posts on the blog. So, I will not go into more details on that. Rather I would like to write what I have not said earlier.
I came into writing when I was studying into eighth standard and my first article was published from a district newspaper from Akola then. It was an article about Chetan Chauhan when he was dropped from the playing side of India in test cricket. After that few more articles, all on cricket, were published in the same newspaper that time. Simultaneously after that I was approaching tenth standard and the board examinations, but still cricket was always on top in my mind. I did send few articles to the popular magazines in circulation then, but they were returned with some suggestions to me and that gave me a learning on how to plan and arrange the articles.
However, everything changed after I passed out matriculation and joined vocational subjects in eleventh instead of the subjects I liked most i.e. ‘Arts’. I have mentioned that journey on the blog in this article here. And during these two years I was more on movies and cricket and so as expected I failed in the examination. After that I joined a construction company and start working there and continued to working after that.
Now between all these years i.e. 1985 to 2009 I was working and continuing with my hobby of collecting cassettes, watching movies, listening music. And that was the biggest recreation and motivation for me during all those years. It so happened in 2009 that my close friends working in the same company with me in Kachchh but in different units/departments, push me to take up writing and that is how I started my blog and after that my younger daughter who used to write regularly became a part of that blog.
So finally the circle came to round and life brought me back to my passion of writing after a gap of almost twenty-seven years. And when I came into contact with this blog and started sending my contribution for lyrics earlier in 2012 I thought to give a try for writing articles and my first article appeared on the blog in 2013.
When I became a lyric contributor to the blog, that was my ‘new birth’ and at that point, life started again for me with new purpose, new energy, inspiration and motivation. And all these factors – purpose, energy, inspiration, motivation, celebration, and nostalgia keep growing further as my journey with the blog has been continued and still going …
Many childhood memories of watching movies, of songs from movies of yesteryears, keep surfacing and it was like one memory triggering other memory and bringing close to its related vague memories of those beautiful years. I started getting connected to many incidences which were lying dormant in my memory or which I had forgotten. And, I must say that since coming into the contact with the blog and specially after having HFGK Vol-V (1971-1980) when I started sharing song posts of songs with the seventies, I had been transformed to that era only when my age was growing between eight to fifteen years.
In my circles whenever someone asks my age, I always used to tell them that ‘I am only seventeen years old and do not to grow more than that’. But the blog has reduced my age between eight-fifteen and I keep shuffling in that ‘age-era’ only i.e. if I considered up to 1983. And if I considered up to 1980 then my age is twelve years only.
I think I have also mentioned this earlier that finding this blog and being a part of this was a feeling like ‘this was the destination of my life’ and ‘all these years of life I was alive for this purpose only’. Always feeling fortunate and blessed to be a part of this journey and a member of this team …
Meeting some of the team members and seniors in the group during the ‘gang-outs’ has given many unforgettable memories and those are the most cherished moments of my life. And it is going to continue in future too 🙂 . The joy from discussions during such meetings and sharing of thoughts also cannot be expressed in words. And most importantly during such meetings I also got a chance to meet many respected and dedicated ‘like-minded peoples’ who in their own capacity are not less than a ‘encyclopaedia’ about yesteryears Hindi films and Hindi film music.
Thanking again to Atul ji and all other members and this wonderful blog. . . I am trying to express my feelings in the following ‘poem’;
And let us now enjoy the song with a vintage Kishore voice from the 1971 movie ‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’. (Yes, the year of this movie is to be corrected as ‘1971’ on the blog and for the two posts already posted on the blog. Though in the second post one tag ‘songs of’ is correct i.e. ‘songs of 1971’)
‘Kal Aaj Aur Kal’ was directed by Randhir Kapoor for R.K. Films, Bombay. This was Randhir Kapoor’s first movie too and he was introduced or launched in style with also given direction of this movie. It was produced by Raj Kapoor.
It had Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Babita, Narendranath, Roopesh Kumar, Achala Sachdev, David, Tiwari, Iftekhar, Abhi Bhattacharya, Vishwa Mehra, Sarita, Aarti, Asha Chandra, Shri Ram Shastri, Mansaram, Sumita Khurana, Pardesi, Uma Dutt, Rashid Khan, Mandhir Siyal, Prakash Mishra, Ranveer Raj, Ghanshyam Rohida and others.
Story, Screenplay and Dialogues of this movie were written by Virendra Sinha. Editing of this movie was done by S.R. Kabre. It was passed by Censor Board on 11.11.1971.
This movie has six songs penned by three lyricists – Hasrat Jaipuri (two songs), Neeraj (three songs) and Shaily Shailendra (one song). Music for this movie is composed by Shankar-Jaikishan. Asha Bhonsle, Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Mukesh, and Sharda had given their voices to the songs in this movie.
I think I have watched some part of this movie or may be the whole movie on TV or somewhere else, but I do not remember it now except I remember vaguely about its storyline. Knowledgeable readers may kindly throw more light on this movie and its songs please.
Two songs from this movie have already been posted on the blog earlier. And the today’s song is the third song of this movie being presented on the blog on the special occasion of ‘Blog’s 15k Songs Festival’ 😊
Today is also the 97th birth anniversary of songwriter Hasrat Jaipuri.

Mohammed Rafi – Duets – ‘अ’ से ‘ह’ तक (From ‘अ’ to ‘ह’) – 9
– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –
‘ख’ – खुश कर दिया तूने मेरे रामा
Yes, surely the Almighty God sent you here amongst us, only for singing and to add to the music on this earth. And what a wonderful treasure you have bequeathed to the lesser mortals of this earth. We shall always be indebted for this tremendous legacy you gave us.
Continuing with Rafi Sb’s duet series after a gap of – goodness, seventy two days. Wow. Anyway, back again with another rollicking duet, this time accompanied by Lata Mangeshkar.
And rollicking is just the word. The setting is Punjabi, the performance is a Punjabi Bhangra dance, and the occasion – one of the most awaited and the most celebrated in Indian families – birth of a male child.
The film is ‘Jeet’ from 1972. The main performers in this group dance song are Randhir Kapoor and Babita. The film being released in 1972, would have been in the making in 1971, the year that this lead pair tied the knot and became a real life couple. Ah but that story for another occasion, another post. Today, we are moving ahead with the duet series of Rafi Sb, getting to the 10th episode in this series, which promises to be long – going thru the entire Devnagri alphabet.
The film is produced under the banner of Babu Movies Combine, and is directed by A Subbarao. Besides the lead pair mentioned above, the other players in the star cast include Rajendra Nath, Rupesh Kumar, Jatin, Nana Palsikar, Anwar Hussain, Jeevan, Sundar, Hari Shivdasani, Dada Mirasi, Keshav Rana, Master Shahid, Heena Kausar, Sanjana, Sulochana Latakar, Manorama, Dulari, and Baby Sudha etc.
The film has six songs, three of which are already showcased on our blog. Goodness, that was 2009, all three songs posted so far. After a gap of nine years, we once again get an opportunity to revisit this film – today’s being the fourth song posted. All songs are written by Anand Bakshi. Music direction is by the duo of Laxmikant Pyaarelal.
On screen, we see a homely set of a village lane with houses lined up close to each other. Randhir and Babita are leading the bhangra dance event, with Sunder also part of the male dance group. In between, we see Dulari holding a baby (well, not looking too much new born, but oh well 🙂 ). There is another lady sitting next to her. I am guessing that she is Sanjana. I request other more knowledgeable readers and friends to please confirm or correct this guess. As per Prakash ji, the other lady is Heena Kausar. Plus, one of the dancers accompanying Babita is Sheela Ramchandran.
The event and the celebration is about the new born child, but quite apparently, the lead pair is spending more lines trying to woo each other and play the romantic love birds. Well in fact, it is just the mukhda lines that talk about the child birth celebrations. The entire verse set for both antaraas is just the romancing between the hero and the heroine. Quite a ‘filmi’ thing, right?
Enjoy this lively bhangra dance song; and I hope to speed up things on this series, let us see. 😉

‘Kab Kyun Aur Kahaan’ (1970) was directed by Arjun Hingorani for Kapleshwar Films, Bombay. This ‘social’ movie had Dharmendra, Babita, Pran, Helen, Ashu, Dhumal, Asit Sen, Mohan Choti, Hari Shivdasani, Jankidas, Hiralal, Sujata, Shetty, Keshav Rana, Master Ratan, Murad, Yunus, Susheela, Ranveer Raj etc in it.
This movie had four songs in it. Two of these songs were covered in the blog in 2013.
The third song from the movie was covered in February 2018, viz after a long gap of over 1800 days. 🙂
The details of the songs discussed in the past are as under:

Here is the next song, which is the fourth and final song from the movie. This song is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. Indeewar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji. Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Avinash Scrapwala.
The song is picturised on Babita and Dharmendra as an “expression of love” genre of song with “pranay nivedan” being the sub genre. The gentleman requests “pyaar” and the lady responds with “nahin nahin” and “kabhi nahin” with metronomic precision. But experienced duet song listeners like me know that the lyrics of the last stanza of the song would change colour signifying that the “kabhi nahin” has been repealed and replaced with consent. 🙂
The song is picturised nicely at picturesque locations. I wonder if the locations shown in the picturisation still retain the same picture postcard beauty. Seeing that the picturisation took place half a century ago, it is highly unlikely that the localities retain the same appearance now.
With this delightful romantic song, ‘Kab Kyun Aur Kahaan’ (1970) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.

Lyrics (Provided by Avinash Scrapwala)
pyaar se dil bhar de
nahin nahin
hum pe karam kar de
kabhi nahin
haaye
pyaar se dil bhar de
oon hoon
hum pe karam kar de
kabhi nahin
varna hum mar jaayenge o zaalim
naam tera le le
haaye allaah
chhod meri raahen
nahin nahin
chhod meri baahen
kabhi nahin
pyaar tujhe maange na milega
jaan bhale le le
allaah allaah
pyaar se dil bhar de
nahin nahin
hum pe karam kar de
kabhi nahin
lo mil gayi lehron se lehren
miley hain baadal baadal se ae
miley hain baadal baadal se
har koi dil bandhaa hua hai
kisi na kisi ke aanchal se ae
kisi na kisi ke aanchal se
tu bhi meri kismat likh de
apne pyaar ke kaajal se ae
chhod meri raahen
nahin nahin
chhod meri baahen
kabhi nahin
pyaar tujhe maange na milegaa
jaan bhale le le
allaah allaah
pyaar se dil bhar de
oon hoon
hum pe karam kar de
kabhi nahin
pyaar shama ne diya kisi ko
saari saari raat jali ee
saari saari raat jali
pyaar kali ne diya kisi ko
saare chaman mein baat chali ee
saare chaman mein baat chali
maine tujhko zara saa chaaha
rusva ho gayi gali gali ee
pyaar se dil bhar de
oon hoon
hum pe karam kar de
kabhi nahin
varna hum mar jaayenge o zaalim
naam tera le le
haaye allaah
chhod meri raahen
nahin nahin
chhod meri baahen
kabhi nahin
roop ka sooraj mere saamne
kyun hai mera din kaala aa
kyun hai mera din kaala
main hoon phir bhi pyaase ka pyaasa
paas hai amrit ka pyaala aa
paas hai amrit ka pyaala
allaah kaise chhudaaun main palla
padaa hai paagal se paala aa
pyaar se dil bhar de
nahin nahin
hum pe karam kar de
kabhi nahin
varna hum mar jaayenge o zaalim
naam tera le le

This song is sung by Lata. Indeewar is the lyricist. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.
The song is picturised on Babita and Dharmendra as an “expression of love” genre of song. Those were the days when lead pair of Hindi movies would keep changing their clothes throughout a song. This song faithfully sticks to that requirement. One can notice Babita, and Dharmendra changing their dresses in every stanza of the song.

Today we pay tribute here on the blog to Mahendra Kapoor, one of the well-known voices of the golden era of Hindi music, on the occasion of his 9th death anniversary. There are many ways to start this tribute but, instead of “getting my eye in”, let me, Sehwag-style, straightaway go for it. By “it”, I mean the elephant in the room.
