“Railway Platform” (1955) was produced and directed by Ramesh Saigal. The movie had Sheila Ramani, Sunil Dutt, Nalini Jaiwant, Jagdeep, Johnny Walker, Manmohan Krishna, Raj Mehra, Leela Misra, Nishi, Nana Palsikar etc in it.
Four songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fifth song from the movie. It is sung by Lata. The song is sung by Lata. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Madan Mohan.
The song is a bidaai song which is lip synced by Nalini Jaiwant on the occasion of Sheila Ramani getting married to Sunil Dutt. One would expect this song to take place after the wedding, but the wedding begins only after the song is over as seen in the picturisation. So it appears a bit like putting the cart before the horse to me. 🙂
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Khyati Bhatt.

Atul-ji,
agreed that it is a ‘bidaayee’ song, but look at the tense of the word ‘dolia UTHAYENGE kahar’. Nalini is telling Sheela what is going to happen after the ceremony.

Khyati ji – thanks for this one from Sahir Saab. ( I think we are working on the same ‘theme’) 🙂
