Song no. 4 in this series is again a duet, but this time it is Jagjit Kaur who is singing with Rafi. This is from the film ‘ Mera Bhai Mera Dushman ‘ (1967). I had never heard of this film. The lyrics are written by Kaifi Azmi and the composer is Khaiyyam. Now, about them I have definitely heard. 🙂
The name of Khaiyyam and his songs, the first song that came to mind is Shaam e gham ki kasam. This song from ‘Footpath’ is written by Majrooh Sultanpuri. Looking for songs by Kaifi Azmi – Khaiyyam combine, resulted in this list :

Than there is this personal favourite from ‘Bazaar’ Lata’s Dikhaayi diye yoon, which is a ghazal by Mir Taqi Mir, composed by Khaiyyam.
Coming back to the song from ‘Mera Bhai mera Dushman’ (1967), the Rafi excel sheet is giving the names of Prem Nath and Shyama. And from the video it is clear that they are not Prem Nath and Shyama. This song is also the first from this film to appear in the blog.

Kuchh paane ke liye kuchh ‘khodnaa’ to padtaa hai !
Anyway, this one was easily found in the Rafi Excel Sheet and on youtube.

Can someone please provide more information on the singers of all the songs in “Mera Bhai Mera Dushman”? Unfortunately I don’t have “Hindi Film Geet Kosh” and am not able to verify. In particular, I am interested in knowing about the song(s) sung by Madan Saigal, who was the son of K.L.Saigal. The credits for “Mera Bhai Mera Dushman” list Madan Saigal’s name as one of the singers and they specifically point out that he is K.L.Saigal’s son.

one strange name appears in the title cards of this movie, it was spelt as “JAY KAY”
producers of this movie “mera bhai mera dushmun(as spelt in the title cards)”are:
Jagadish Kumar and Seth Productions
presenter of the movie is “J.K.Films Present”
after taking into all above facts, My conclusion is the guy with NALINI CHONKER in this song sequence is producer JAGADISH KUMAR aka JAY KAY”
